There's a new barber shop in town in Gaylord.
Blades Barber Shop is now open at 105 North Center Avenue, close to downtown Gaylord.
It's owned by Lisa Priest, a Howell native and now-Gaylord reisdent, who has long experience as a hair stylist and barber.
She opened the doors this spring on Blades Barber Shop, creating a masculine barber-shop environment complete with an old-fashioned barber's pole to draw attention outside.
Priest has worked as a hair stylist for 27 years, including at a variety of salons, and also has experience with military haircuts.
She says she hopes to hire in new stylists and barbers as her business grows. Blades Barber Shop is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays.
