Catholic radio network opens new office in Traverse City

Northern Michigan Catholic radio network, Baraga Radio Network, has made a move from Indian River into Traverse City.

The network moved its headquarters to 1020 Hastings Street, Suite 101, from a small house in Indian River, and general manager Therese O'Brien says it's certainly not due to any fault in Indian River but simply a matter of being able to reach further.

"Over the last eight years we've experienced tremendous growth.  Indian River is a wonderful community full of generous and loving people who helped to found Catholic radio in northern Michigan and make it grow," she says. "Unfortunately, a majority of them are summer-only residents. It got to a point where it was necessary for us to be located where there is a larger number of people who can help us as volunteers year round. The Traverse Bay region has the largest concentration of Catholics and potential Catholics, as well as visitors, and we can impact more people by being located there."

Baraga Radio Network consists of six stations in Traverse City, Harbor Springs, St. Ignace, Gaylord, Alpena and Tawas.
