Downtown Traverse City home to new shop, The Cheese Lady

Travelers or those with connections in Muskegon, Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo may already recognize the Cheese Lady name.

Now Traverse City has a branch of the Muskegon-grown business, thanks to new franchise owner Tina Zinn, who opened the Cheese Lady of Traverse City at 600 West Front Street. What could be a better match for the Traverse City area's wine offerings?

It opened for business in early October and is the fourth location of the Cheese Lady. The focus is entirely on artisanal cheeses, with more than 100 cheeses to choose from. New varieties arrive constantly as well, with holiday specialties from around the world on the shelves right now.

Crackers, condiments, spreads, jams and other things that go well with cheese also are part of the shop's stock.

You can keep up with the latest offerings at the Cheese Lady of Traverse City's Facebook page. The store is also open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
