A new YMCA is now open for residents of Traverse City. Located at 3700 Silver Lake Road, it's officially open as of Sept. 22.
Run by the
Grand Traverse Bay YMCA Board, the new facility has a wide range of fitness and health activities, like new circuit training machines, rooms for free weights, aerobics, cardio and strength training, tennis courts, yoga classes, a zero-incline pool with splash pad and hot tub, and handicap-accessible fitness machines.
It joins two more YMCAs in Traverse City, at the Woodmere Avenue and Boardman River locations.
"This new facility is such an exciting addition to the greater Grand Traverse Area. We are delighted to be able to offer such an amazing health and wellness center to our community," says Lynn Schultz, board president.
