Safety Net, Inc. is spinning off some of its services into a standalone company.
The firm's business intelligence platform, Naveego, will now become
Naveego, Inc. It previously was part of Safety Net's application development group, but according to the press release from Safety Net, the software had undergone so much expansion that it needed its own business structure.
Naveego helps organizations bring data together for use in performance dashboards and alerts. It has established a client base and resale partnerships in, for example, retail, nonprofit and marketing fields, as well as the oil and gas industries. Seeing opportunities in even more market sectors was another reason to spin off into a separate company, according to Safety Net.
The new company will be adding a team of sales professionals, as well as more software developers. For now, it will remain in Traverse City, leasing space from Safety Net in the same offices. Co-founder and software developer Derek Smith, who created Naveego, will act as interim CEO, with co-founders Kevin Bozung and Beth Holmes-Bozung as board members.
