Petoskey State Park offers beach getaway close to home

Yeah, who needs tropical vacations? Just kidding, those are great, but if you can't do that, be sure to get out and enjoy the Lake Michigan beaches this summer--they're free!

One of several all-American communities cozied up along picturesque Little Traverse Bay, a cove of Lake Michigan blessed with postcard views and low humidity, Petoskey is the biggest and most popular destination between hip Traverse City and historic Mackinac Island (both close enough for there-and-back excursions).
