Water is what sets Michigan from most other Midwest states, with its unparalleled access to the Great Lakes, plus inland lakes and rivers. A chunk of funding will go to grants to keep that resource clean.

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality says funding for 10 projects will help restore impaired waters and protect high-quality waters by reducing sources of sediment, nutrients and other contaminants.
