Results are in from the Mid-American Wine Competition, and northern Michigan's L. Mawby Vineyards is among the winners for its sparkling wine Domaine Leelanau Leland.
Excerpt: The Mid-American Wine Competition was held July 11th through 14th at the Des Moines Area Community College. Contestants submitted wines from Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
